All of  the illustrations from The Soldier in Our Civil War- The Two Volume Set

Images from the full two volume set of The Soldier in Our Civil War (1893) are available as a set of 2 DVDs - one volume per DVD. The books are 11"x17;" so, the double page images are 17"x22." Each image is in the collection as a "tif" file at 300 dpi. There are approximately 1000 engravings in the set of two books.  There was no better way to organize the images than just using the books' indexes. The indexes are hyperlinked to the images. Each of the two DVDs contains a little over 4 gigabytes of image files. You can get a preview of small samples of most of the image files by following the links from the indexes.   Volume I Double Page Index. Volume II Double Page Index . All other illustrations (full page, half page, quarter and smaller in Vol. I and II) can be accessed through the Volume I Full Index of Illustrations or the Volume II Full Index of Illustrations.

The text of the books is not included on the DVDs. With much broken type and lines that are not straight OCR is extremely tedious. If sufficient interest exists for the image DVDs the text will be made available at a future time and will be provided to the purchasers of these DVDs at no additional charge.
